And if they had only kept the rights for this game, they would surely now have an amazing product in their hands: dear old Nintendo must be happy, as it has now regained full creative and commercial control of this TCG. Since 2003, it has entirely managed its production, and the attention it has given it has only grown.

And so this game, born just a few years after the release of the Game Boy video games, has helped keep the strength of Pokémon as a franchise alive, to the point of overshadowing all competition. Its fanbase continues to grow day by day, also thanks to its ever-varied cards and the resonance given by the world's biggest brand.
