POKÉMON - Plush - Charmander (Jazwares)
Charmander is a creature resembling a bipedal salamander with some dinosaur or dragon traits. It has blue eyes and a pink-skin colored belly. Its most distinctive feature is the flame at the end of its tail, present since birth. It is said that if the flame went out, the Pokémon would die (although this has never been seen to happen). Charmander can be related to some Dragon-type Pokémon and to Magmar, since both have flames on their tails. Although its claws are small, they must be handled with great care, as they are strong and sharp enough to allow the Pokémon to learn the move Slash.
Charmander can spit fire, which allows it to use a wide range of Fire-type attacks. The strength of these attacks is directly proportional to the strength and health of the Charmander, as it draws vital energy from the flame on its tail to fuel the fire of its attacks. Over time, it can learn very powerful Fire-type moves such as Flamethrower and Fire Blast. It can also learn to spit the blue flames of Dragon Rage, but Charmander can only use this move from the second generation onwards. Its tail can also be used to directly attack the enemy with the flame at its tip, but these attacks are usually weaker than those with flames emitted by Charmander.
Charmander is definitely the calmest of its evolutionary line. Its health and emotions can easily be inferred by paying attention to the flame at the tip of its tail. For example, if the flame suddenly grows, the Charmander is probably angry and may be using the attack Rage. It is a very rare Pokémon to find in the wild; many are domestic, raised to be given as starter Pokémon by Professor Oak. It is often referred to as the most difficult starter Pokémon to train due to its disadvantage against the first two Gym Leaders of Kanto, (Brock and Misty).
Some people choose Charmander believing it to be stronger than Bulbasaur and Squirtle. In any case, while Charmander will grow into a very powerful Pokémon, its battle strength is closely tied to its health conditions, so care must also be taken of the flame at the tip of its tail. Many Trainers have no trouble doing this, but the most impatient who expect a very strong Pokémon right from the start will have many difficulties in this regard. In A New Pokémon, the Trainer Damian abandons his Charmander for this very reason. Charmanders are very loyal Pokémon: in the episode mentioned earlier, for example, the Pokémon refused to move from a rock because Damian told it to wait. Ash had to carry it to the nearest Pokémon Center because the Pokémon refused to move despite the pouring rain threatening to extinguish the flame on its tail.
