Mario is the official mascot of Nintendo. Most of the over two hundred games in which he appears are produced for consoles by the Japanese company, although there are titles for personal computers or CD-i. Most of the titles featuring Mario as the protagonist are platform video games. Despite the failure of Mario Clash (the first attempt at a "Mario" game in 3D, released for Virtual Boy), various chapters of the series with three-dimensional graphics have been produced, including Super Mario 64 for Nintendo 64, Super Mario Sunshine for Nintendo GameCube and Super Mario Galaxy for Nintendo Wii. In these last two, in particular, Miyamoto's staff tried to achieve a certain realism, for example in the way the plumber jumps on enemies. Depending on the game, the actual feel of using the controller varies, since Mario's controls are recreated from scratch for each title (even though the hardware functionality is identical).
