Year 5738, for 3,700 years all of humanity has been turned into stone due to a mysterious catastrophe. Taiju Oki inexplicably manages to awaken, finding himself faced with a reality completely different from what he remembered, where nature has regained control over human civilization. Upon his awakening, the boy reunites with his friend Senku, a young and brilliant scientist, who also woke up a few months earlier. Together, the boys hope to discover the cause behind the sudden petrification, and, in the meantime, to find a cure and rebuild human civilization through the power of science.
