CHARACTER INFORMATION

Asuna, whose real name is Asuna Yuuki, is one of the main characters of the story. During the events of SAO, she will become engaged and then marry Kirigaya Kazuto. Her title is "The Lightning" due to her incredible speed in executing thrusts with her rapier. Her skill with the sword and her authority allow her to become the vice-commander of the "Knights of Blood," the strongest guild in all of SAO. Asuna is a very kind and loving girl, but when necessary, strong and courageous. Kirito will often ask her to step back in battle, but because of her determined and unstoppable spirit, she will always stand by her beloved, ready to sacrifice her life for him. Asuna will spend 2 years in SAO in the desperate attempt to finish the game, as she believes that each day trapped there is a day lost in reality, until she falls in love with Kirito. She states that in that virtual world her feelings for him are absolutely sincere and that since she met him, that imprisonment has become more bearable.
