Trafalgar D. Water Law is the captain and doctor of the Heart Pirates and one of the Worst Generation pirates. In the past, he was a member of the Seven Warlords and the Don Quijote Pirates. Law has proven to be a very clever and opportunistic leader; he is also the captain of a pirate crew and a super rookie. He earned the nickname "Surgeon of Death" for his surgical skills in addition to formidable combat abilities. Law ate the Ope Ope no Mi Devil Fruit of the Paramecia category, which allows him to create a sphere around himself. He can move and cut anything inside it, including himself, and has the ability to manipulate the cut parts as he wishes. The Ope Ope no Mi is considered the "ultimate Devil Fruit" for its ability to grant eternal life in exchange for the user's own. The weakness of the power seems to be the concentration required to use it; his strength quickly depletes with the use of his power. The Spectral Wail is a larger version of the typical Japanese sword known as nodachi. Law wields it skillfully, managing to slice opponents at a distance by using it in combination with his Devil Fruit.
