Nier: Automata (ニーア オートマタ Nīa Ōtomata^?) is a video game developed by Platinum Games and published in 2017 by Square Enix for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows. A sequel to Nier, it is part of the Drakengard series. Set in a positional war between robots created by invaders from other worlds and the remnants of humanity, the story tells of the battles of a combat android, her companion, and a fugitive prototype. The gameplay combines role-playing elements with action and fighting genres similar to those of "Nier".

NieR: Automata tells the story of the androids 2B, 9S, and A2 and their fierce battle to reclaim a dystopian world ruled by machines and now invaded by powerful bio-machines. 2B Official name: YoRHa N.2 – Model B A sharp blade… with a silent will. A versatile battle android, member of the YoRHa android infantry squad. Although equipped with a sword for close combat, 2B can also perform ranged attacks thanks to the support system “Pod.” All YoRHa members give up their names and are recognized by their serial numbers. Although the rules prevent YoRHa members from feeling emotions, each model has a unique personality. 2B is relatively serious and calm.
