CHARACTER INFORMATION

Keyblades are mysterious weapons that have appeared in all chapters of Kingdom Hearts. They play an important role in the battle between Light and Darkness and can be used somewhat like swords that are particularly effective against the Nobodies, the Heartless, and the Nobody. Their appearance and abilities can vary depending on the Keyholders, special keychains that can be attached to the Keyblades, changing their appearance and/or strength; however, not all Keyblades have available Keyholders, King Mickey's Keyblade is an example. The main purpose of the Keyblade is to seal the Locks of the worlds to prevent the Heartless from penetrating the heart of the world and contaminating the hearts of the worlds by destroying them. Keyblades are also able to unlock new passages between worlds if the old ones have been blocked (this is possible thanks to the bond that links the hearts of people from one world to another). They can also open locked chests or gates or sealed doors. These weapons, however, do not work with everyone; they choose a chosen one and only that person can wield them unless a successor is chosen by the former wielder. Some Keyblades even have the power to transform into vehicles to travel between worlds. The main Keyblade wielders are Sora, Riku, Kairi, King Mickey, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Roxas, Xehanort, and Lea.
