CHARACTER INFORMATION

Bill is a fictional character, created by Quentin Tarantino, seen in the Kill Bill series. Bill is portrayed by David Carradine. Around his twenties, Bill received martial arts training from the great Mandarin master Pai Mei. Following this extensive training, Bill became an expert in the art of the samurai sword and Kung Fu, and decided to create a team of professional killers, the D.V.A.S.. Among them, Bill recruited Beatrix Kiddo, who later became his fiancée, Elle Driver, another lover of Bill, Budd, his brother, O-Ren Ishii and Vernita Green. Each killer was given a code name upon joining the team, a particular species of snake, while Bill became the Snake Charmer. Before his rise to power in Japan, having recently received a sword from Hattori Hanzo, he worked as a hitman and bodyguard for the then ruthless Yakuza boss: Matsumoto. Bill's pure selfishness and rage led him to commit a terrible massacre at the Two Pines Chapel: during Beatrix's wedding rehearsal, Bill, followed by other D.V.A.S. members, killed all the guests attending the ceremony, including the groom and (at least apparently) his daughter. When the police arrived at the massacre scene, it was discovered that Beatrix had miraculously survived, although in a vegetative coma. After the Bride's coma, Bill took responsibility as a father, raising little B.B. until the tender age of 4. When Beatrix woke from the coma, Bill was informed by Sofie Fatale that the Bride had returned and had wiped out O-Ren and the 88 Crazy Ones. He later also learned of Vernita Green's fate. The Bride then returned to Bill, who explained the reason for the massacre and all those actions: it was Beatrix's inconsistency that angered Bill. Bill and the Bride, following this discussion, began to fight, but the woman, after a few blows, killed him using the infamous heart explosion technique with five finger strikes, which Pai Mei had taught only to Beatrix. Bill was amazed but faced his fate bravely: after only five steps, he collapsed to the ground, dead. Bill nevertheless proved to be an excellent father to B.B..
