CHARACTER INFORMATION
When Kratos sold his soul to Ares, the God of War gave him the Blades of Chaos, powerful swords attached to his arms that allow him to kill enemies very ruthlessly. The blades became Kratos’ signature weapons and with them, he killed many people. When he killed his family with these blades, he swore he would never use them again and obtained from Athena the Blades of Athena and the Blades of Exile. Once Olympus was destroyed, Kratos tried to get rid of the blades by throwing them into the sea, but they always return to him because Ares made sure they were forever bound to him. The demigod, aware he cannot get rid of the blades, decides to take them with him to Norway while continuing not to use them. He hides them inside a Spartan cloth under his house, forbidding his son Atreus from taking them. When Atreus falls ill, he is forced to use them again because they are the only weapon capable of facing the demons of Helheim. Thanks to his son, he manages to forgive himself for the harm done years before and agrees to finally use the Blades of Chaos, but only if necessary. When Brok sees the Blades of Chaos for the first time, he calls them "special," on par with Thor's Mjolnir.
