Monkey D. Luffy is a young dreamer pirate who, as a child, accidentally ate a Devil Fruit, becoming a rubber man with the ability to stretch and deform at will. With the goal of becoming the Pirate King and finding the legendary treasure One Piece, which according to legend was hidden by Gol D. Roger on the island of Raftel at the end of the Grand Line, Luffy sets out to sea and gathers a crew around him. The Straw Hat crew includes: Roronoa Zoro, a tenacious swordsman with a unique three-sword technique; Nami, a clever thief but above all a skilled navigator; Usopp, a cowardly and lying sharpshooter; Sanji, a gentlemanly cook with a weakness for women; Tony Tony Chopper, an anthropomorphic reindeer and ship's doctor; Nico Robin, an archaeologist who wishes to shed light on a dark period of world history; Franky, a cyborg shipwright; Brook, a skeleton musician and swordsman; and Jinbe, a fish-man, former member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and expert helmsman. During their journey through the East Blue and the first part of the Grand Line, Luffy and his companions experience numerous adventures, find allies, and face pirate or Marine enemies who intend to stop them.
